Please scroll below to see a breakdown of exactly what Aureum Advocacy can do to help you at each stage of your appeal.

Prior to appeal

We offer a wide range of services to help you navigate the pre-appeal procedure, starting the moment your LA decision letter arrives. These services include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. Initial consultation

Do you need help to understand your LA decision letter, what your options are and the timelines associated with those? Then book us for an initial consultation to help explain things to you!

2. Deciding on mediation

When you disagree with the Local Authority's decision, you have a right to request mediation with the LA. The decision to sit down with the LA is up to you. If you decide you would like to exercise your right, we can help arrange this meeting on your behalf.

3. Mediation advocacy

If you deide that mediation is right for you, then we will be available to advocate on your behalf in this meeting, putting your case across for you with zeal!

4. Registering your appeal

Not every mediation will end in a reversed decision and you may still be left feeling unsatisfied. The next stage after this is to register an appeal with the First-Tier Tribunal. If you find yourself in need of assistance, we are more than happy to help you register your appeal!

During your appeal

There are many different timelines and tehcnical aspects to navigating a SEND appeal. For some people this can feel overwhelming and stressful. We can take that stress off of your shoulders by offering assitance throughout the course of your appeal. Examples of what we can do for you include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. Statement of Case

At the time of initial registration, we will work with you to identify what the key issues of the appeal are. We will compile this into a detailed and professional Statement of Case to start your appeal off right!

2. Timeline compliance

During a SEND appeal, timelines often vary from those originally given and it can become difficult for some people to keep track of. As part of our representation, we will ensure you are constantly aware of every change in timeline, and that compliance with these is never an issue!

3. Collaborative working

A large aspect of a SEND appeal is collaboratively working with all parties in order to try and come to agreements on as many aspects of your appeal as possible. We will pursue your best interests at every stage of this working relationship, to try and get the best outcome for you that we can.

4. Your case, voiced through us

One of the things we pride ourselves on is our ability to zealously advocate your case. By choosing Aureum Advocacy as your representatives, we promise to be your unyielding voice. Your case will be led by you, and voiced through us. If you want a point raised, or argued, then we will do so for you fearlessly.

Representation at hearings

A SEND appeal is not always just one, final, hearing. It is a fluid process and at times the Tribunal may want to have a hearing for a number of reasons. Whatever the hearing, we will represent you at them, zealously putting your case across to the panel and fearlessly advocating your cause!
